Teachers are very busy people. I should know. I have been in the field for more than a decade. I'd enjoy learning experiences with my class for long undisturbed periods until just a few years ago.
The system began to ask too many questions. Questions that make me ask: Haven't I answered this already...?
There is even this online system that we had to feed with every Data available about the school, the personnel, even the kids.
The System is not even Filipino. Who is using this data? What I know is that I haven't used a tad of it ever since. I just had to feed it with valuable data because it was a part of my job.
Just this March, after all the reports, I asked myself: How many reams of Bond paper have I used for the teacher's reports? It stammers me to think that there are eight thousand of us in the service and that we are supposed to be teachers.
This leads me to ask: How destructive is the teacher?
Recently, one of the people I looked up to the most approached me and asked me if I could draft a system that could cater to the exchange of Data throughout the Division of Iloilo. From hereon, I will refer to him as Sir K.
So I said to myself.. okay at least I could make it more MAKATAO by making it easy to access.
Sir K suggested we could use SMS Texting. So texting it is!
To make it MAKAKALIKASAN, the system must NEVER use Paper.
And to make it MAKABANSA, we had to make sure that we, the developers were pure FILIPINOS.
My worries were that my Scottish bloodline would be an issue. :)
Guess what...
it is done. :)
Project Star Information System is good to go!
